About Me

My first novel, Stolen, was published in 2013 and was one of the winners of the first Northern Crime Competition.  I also won a Northern Writers’ Time to Write Award in 2010 for the same book. My second novel, Gone, was released in January 2015 and my third, Tell Me Lies in March 2016, both by Mulholland. The fourth, Murder in Slow Motion, has just been released.

I’m currently working on a historical novel called Devotion which is based on the life of philosopher Peter Abelard.

I have a degree in Film and Media from the University of Sunderland and an MA in Creative Writing from Teesside University.  As I collect courses like other people collect stamps, I also have qualifications in Film and TV Production and Music Management, and have done several short courses including Crime Scene Investigation and Criminology.

I have lived and worked in Holland and London, and in 2002 I travelled around the USA on  Greyhound bus. One day I will write about that.

I also have two dogs – both lurchers – who are extremely naughty but extremely adorable too. 12622364_531643640346819_941562229032333653_o

  1. Hi Rebecca,

I am a big fan of crime thrillers & read a lot of them. I decided to take a chance on “Stolen” and I was so glad that I did! It was so good that I finished it in 2 days & just couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about it – the short chapters, the characters, the suspense & the plot twist.

I note that you have a degree in film & couldn’t help but think that “Stolen” would make for a superb movie. I really hope that your book makes it to the screen, with the right actors it would be incredibly powerful.

I am telling all of my friends about your book & I can’t wait for “Gone” to be released. Well done & keep up the fabulous work!

  2. Hello Rebecca,

I am the german half of an englisch-german couple. Tony and I met you two weeks ago at your parents. As he bought your book “Stolen” at Newcastle Airport, there is now one in Singapore. I am looking forward to reading it when I return there from Germany.

Best of luck to you with your books

    • Hi Marlies

Thanks for your message. It was really kind of you and Tony to buy my book – hopefully you’ll enjoy it!

It was really nice to meet you both. Have a safe trip back to Singapore.
